I personally came from the same local church as Frank. I sang with Frank in Revival when I was a young lady. Our friendship goes back a long ways, over 60 years and I never knew Frank when he was not serving the Lord fervently. Ted had the priviledge of preach his fathers funeral.
The Frank I knew was quite, unassuming, so dilgent and faithful. I Was in many all night prayer meetings in which Frank was there. Early in the mornign he would take a street car to go to work. From the south part of Des Moines, Iowa to the extreme part of North Des Moines. I as a young girl with 3 or 4 hours sleep would take a street car and go approx five miles to High School. We had a rich heritage, and Prayer was a most important part of his life and mine.
To Elva his wife, and my dearest friend throughout a good part of our life, we send our deepest and heartfelt sympathy. I am indebt to Elva as she helped in the developing of my life, and the framing of my ministry. I will always hold a special place in my heart for Frank, Elva and for the entire Howard family. Our love and prayers are with you all. Long time friends,
Ted and Eleanor Clemens Gardner, Kansas

He quietly went about his work, never courting the spotlight, but content to faithfully serve where ever he was needed. I did not know him very well, but somehow I feel what we saw of him in public was exactly what he was in private - genuine servant of God.
